Subject: Mach3 reset?
Hi!

I got my first axis tuned today so that following error is some 70 pulses on short as well as longer moves.

I have a 2048 ppr encoder and I notice that to get full rotation I have to set movement to 8192, so apparently KFlop counts edges instead of pulses.

I also got jogging with KMotionCNC but failed to get Mach3
running.

PlugIn inits Kflop when I press reset but something is causing E-Stop
right after. I disabled everything I could in Mach config (limits, chargepump etc), but it didn't help.

Has anyone got ideas/clues to the cause of this?

Rgds

Hi Tapio,

What do you have the Mach3 EStop input configured as?  It is not possible to disable it.  You might set it to something that is always high like IO 46 (KFLOP LED) and set active low.

Hi again!

1# The reset was due to missing E-Stop config as you guessed.
The IO 46 (KFLOP LED)/active low fixed that.

2# I now get jogging w/ button in Mach3, but entering g0 x100 on
MDI does not produce motion. Also executing program with
"g0 x100" as only line does not produce motion.

Any guesses what I have missed here? (I have 4.30j installed)

Tapio

Hi Tapio,

We would need to see your settings and such, but one obvious thing would be if you don't have the X axis enabled in Mach3.

Hi Tom!

I have been going around today feeling really stupind.
In the first post to this thread I admitted that I disabled everything
I could and then I come back asking why is the axis not moving. really not one of my brightest...

I got the axis moving allright, now just have to get the rest too.

Usually inductive loads require a protection diode. How about the Kanalog opto-inputs when I have inductive limits. do I have to put
the diodes?

Rgds,

Tapio

Hi Tapio,

Ha ha!

Inductive proximity sensors are totally different than something like a relay coil load.  You shouldn't need any protection diodes.
